Salary and Benefits
- UB Sub-Inspector: Level-11 (Rs. 37,800 - 86,400 per month) plus other allowances as admissible under the rules.
- Un-armed Branch (UB) Categories: Level-4 (Rs. 22,200 - 52,400 per month) plus other allowances as admissible under rules.
- Armed Branch (AB):
- Level-4 (Rs. 22,200 - 52,400 per month) plus other allowances as admissible under rules. (for Matriculation - class-X passed)
- Level-3 (Rs. 20,600 - 48,700 per month) plus other allowances as admissible under rules. (for Non Matriculation - class-IX passed)
Essential Qualifications
Education Qualification
- UB SI (Male & Female): Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in any stream from a recognised University.
- UB Constable/ Fireman/Driver Fireman/MPRO Operator/Signal Operator/Fireman Mechanic: 10+2 or its equivalent examination passed.
- AB Constable/ Battalion Constable/Driver Constable/Handyman Constable: Class-IX passed.
Age Limit
- UB Sub-Inspector: The candidates should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 27 years of age on 01st January, 2024. The Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for candidates belonging to ST/OST/SC.
- Unarmed Branch (UB) & Armed Branch (AB): The candidates should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 21 years of age on 01st January, 2024. The Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for candidates belonging to ST/OST/SC.
Application Fee
A non-refunded application fees amount of Rs. 150/- need to be paid by the candidate through online mode only.

Application Process
Candidates can apply and submit their application online by visiting the official recruitment website of Meghalaya Police before 30th April, 2024. No other mode of application will be accepted.
List of documents to be submitted
- 1 (one) recent passport size photograph.
- ID proof - Aadhar card/ Voter Id/ Driving License/ PAN card etc.
- ST/SC/OST certificate issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the respective district of Meghalaya.
- Age certificate as per HSLC/SSLC Certificate/ Admit Cards or equivalent certificate testifying the date of birth/age.
- Certificate for the highest Educational Qualification only.
- Additional qualification certificates, if any.
- No objection certificate for government employees.
Selection Procedure
Physical Measurements Test (PMT)
Height
- Male (ST/SC/OST)- 157 cm, Male (Open Category)- 162 cm
- Female (ST/SC/OST)- 152 cm, Female (Open Category)- 157 cm
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Running:
- Male: Running 5 kilometers within 24 minutes.
- Female: Running 3 kilometers within 19 minutes.
Written Examination
- UBSI Posts: A 3-hour written examination of a total of 300 marks for the Unarmed Sub Inspector (SI) shall consist of 3 (three) papers comprising (i) general English (150 marks), (ii) elementary mathematics, reasoning, and basic science (50 marks), and (iii) general knowledge (100 marks).
- UB Category posts: A 90-minute written examination of a total of 300 marks for the UB group shall comprise 3 (three) papers comprising (i) English grammar and usage, (ii) Arithmetic and Elementary Science, and (iii) general knowledge.
- AB Category Posts: A 60-minute written examination of a total of 150 marks for the Armed Branch (AB) group shall consist of one paper only, consisting of elementary and basic knowledge of English, arithmetic, and general awareness. This paper will be multiple-choice or OMR-based.
Medical Examination
The medical examination will be conducted only in respect of candidates who have been called for interview for various posts as advertised.
- Medical standards: Candidates must not have knocked knees, flat foot or squint eyed and they should not have bad eyesight, colour blindness, varicose vein or piles.
